Different people could be either baffled or thrilled to receive a gift wrapped in this way; something wrapped in a bit of cotton and tied up with bungee elastic. I was delighted; my artist friend who did the wrapping and giving knew I would be.
She had bought the elastic in an Aladdin’s cave of a haberdashery store in Denmark. Recognising what a wrench it must have been to give away such a precious purchase I decided to make something with the elastic so I could give it back to her. I found some karabiners in an Aladdin’s cave of a chandlery made the belt and wrapped it in a padded envelope to post to her.
